Introduction
Isometric types was a very light project, which required us to visualize the sides of a figure which are present, yet invisible for the eye. Isometric drawing helps to illustrate a 3D nature(height, width, depth) of an object on a 2D surface. Isometric means having equal measures which can help to view a form from all sides. Through isometric drawing, I was able to understand overall shape, size and appearance of a form entirely.
In the beginning of the project we were just asked to make basic cubes or cuboids joined together to make a 3D form.
For this week long project of isometric we created 3D forms of alphabets on a 2D surface with the help of isometric grid which included straight lines, slanting lines and curves.
By day 4 of isometric types, I was able to create all the alphabets and created 3d forms out of it.
Creating letters in 3D form was more easier when made digitally in adobe illustrator, than hand drawn. There were quite less chance of mistake when letters are created digitally.
Struggles
In the beginning of this project, I was struggling to make straight lines without the help of scale, but by the end of the project making lines without scale became easier.
K made with slanting lines on Day2 was quite a task for me, as achieving proper shape of the letter was little bit tough.
Success
In day3, we were taught to make letters which included curves. While observing the process of making curves from our tutors, I thought that it is going to be a difficult task but when I started and made my first letter with curve, I started having fun with the curves.
Reflection
Overall this project was quite light and interesting. Isometric drawing provide a systematic and an accurate way to draw 3D objects.
